At Novum Academy, every program is intentionally designed to meet each child where they are, fostering curiosity, creativity, and independence in a warm Montessori environment. Our experienced educators guide students on a child-led, hands-on learning journey rooted in Montessori philosophy, building confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of discovery.
Our Infant Program provides exceptional care for our youngest students, ages 6 weeks to 14 months, in a calm, nurturing environment that encourages independence and natural development. With intentionally low teacher-to-child ratios, each infant receives individualized attention and responsive care, essential in Montessori programs. Through gentle guidance and purposeful activities, infants build movement, concentration, and trust at their own pace, forming a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our Toddler Program offers exceptional learning for children ages 15–23 months, fostering independence, confidence, and social skills. Through hands-on activities and a carefully prepared environment, we support language development, coordination, and a love of learning, aligned with our preschool curriculum. Consistent routines and responsive guidance provide the security toddlers need as they explore, make choices, and engage with their world, building a strong foundation for continued growth.
Our Montessori Preschool program for ages 2 to 3.5 years seamlessly blends early preschool with Primary preparation, emphasizing independence, curiosity, and school readiness. This curriculum introduces foundational skills in language, math, and practical life through hands-on, developmentally appropriate experiences. Our Montessori-guided approach to toilet learning fosters confidence, self-reliance, and essential self-care skills, allowing each child to progress at their own pace.
Our Primary (PreK), program for ages 3 to 6 is the cornerstone of the Montessori approach and a key part of our comprehensive campus curriculum. During this critical developmental period, children are uniquely capable of deep concentration, independence, and joyful learning. Through self-directed work and meaningful choice, they engage with carefully designed Montessori materials that support language, math, sensory exploration, and practical life.
In a thoughtfully prepared environment, children build focus, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility for themselves and their community. Mixed-age classrooms encourage collaboration, leadership, and peer learning, while consistent routines and respectful guidance nurture social-emotional growth. These early years lay a lasting foundation for curiosity, self-motivation, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Transitional Kindergarten classroom, for ages 5 and 6, is an intentional hybrid program that bridges Montessori learning with traditional academic standards. Designed for children who have mastered Primary skills, it reinforces school readiness while preparing them for state benchmarks or a more conventional elementary path. By blending Montessori principles with a structured curriculum, the program builds confidence, independence, and a seamless transition to either Kindergarten or Lower Elementary.
Our school day runs from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., offering a comprehensive academic program that includes Montessori programs and a well-rounded preschool curriculum.
Before School - For families needing extended hours, morning care is included with tuition and runs from 7:00 to 9:00 A.M. A healthy morning snack is provided for toddlers through Transitional Kindergarten students, supporting their development as part of our comprehensive education approach.
Morning care balances choice of work, socialization, and gentle structure, allowing students to start the day calm, happy, and ready to transition into the school day.
The After School Club, available from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. for an additional monthly fee, offers group activities, enrichment, play-based learning, and additional outdoor time in a relaxed, flexible setting.
Novum Academy closely follows the Amarillo Independent School District calendar. During spring and summer breaks, we offer engaging and fun camp sessions at a weekly rate, designed to complement our curriculum and provide enrichment experiences for students.
Enrollment for these programs is required, as space is limited, and drop-in attendance is not permitted. Camp enrollment is open to the general public, but priority for camp weeks is given to current Novum Academy students and their siblings.
